Debut Novel live on Amazon

51000 words into Novel two of the Smithfield trilogy

Eddie Garcia is going to lose it all. His weekend binge drinking is getting out of hand, and his wife is on the verge of leaving him.

When he finally settles on kicking the habit, he figures out just what he needs to stay on track—running.

As a former student track star and current teacher at the same school, Smithfield High, Eddie sets his sights on restarting the school's cross-country team.  A program that has been lost in this poor school in a poor town. With help from his family, his principal, and his newly formed team, Eddie becomes Coach Garcia, developing hard-nosed, determined ways to have the audacity to try to make the state championship in his first year coaching. But when a rogue parent threatens to upend Eddie’s coaching dream, he learns just what he’s made of—and how to keep going despite all odds and underdog status.

o   “I don’t want to let these boys down further. The town does a good enough job of that on its own.” –Eddie Garcia

o   Eddie didn’t plant the seed to his future drinking problems because the night went all wrong, but because the night went so right.
